Buckingham Golf & Country Club is a Semi-Private, 9 hole golf course located on the south shore of Clear Lake, "California's Largest Natural Lake" in Kelseyville, California. The course sits in the shadow of majestic Mt. Konocti and encircles a small lake (Little Borax Lake) on the beautiful Buckingham Peninsula that juts into Clear Lake.
Buckingham Golf & Country Club first opened for play in 1955. The course was designed by James Young. Mark Wotherspoon has redesigned the course with new tees new hazards, new bunkers and a new island for the par 5 17th hole
This nine hole course can be played as an 18 hole course, with a change in tee boxes, for a double loop eighteen hole round. The course features four holes surrounded by water, and large, intimidating oak trees line the fairways. Most holes are narrow, requiring accurate shot placements in order to avoid the thick rough defining the fairways. The signature hole is #7, a unique par 5, requiring a tee shot past a mountainous rock located in the center of its dogleg fairway, then an approach shot over water to the green.
Blue tees: par-37, 3,187 yards, 34.6 / 121
Red tees: par-37, 2,880 yards, 35.9 / 127

Staff could not be more friendly and accommodating. You are more likely to play this course alone than with others as it is just not that busy unless a tournament or group outing is playing. Very enjoyable, be prepared for lots of nuances and breaks due to the geography and layout. A quirky tract that will be intertaining and rewarding.
